I am almost ashamed to try to write after so long a time but will try

We visited Skidmore, Mo. Nov. 24, 1991 and spoke with Mrs Paul, (Velma)
Hansen, who had submitted information on the Hays family. She has a lot of
information available for us. See also The Past and Present History of Nodaway Co., MO. published 1910. Page 1005.
Milton Ray Hays lived 4 miles west of Skidmore, MO. He was the son of
James and Laura Young Hays. He lived with an Uncle John G. Hays for awhile.
He is highly praised in this book which offers a great deal of the Hays family history. He moved to Maryville and was a farmer and worked in Real Estate. Alice Knepper Hays was born in Ogle Co., Ill. and was the youngest dau. of Hiram and Fredrica Stull Knepper. She had come to Mo. when about 2 year sold. The family located in the SE part of Atchison Co., Mo., bought a farm and has lived there ever since. (1910)
The parents of Alice came to Mo. about 1878-1880, according to the history of Nodaway Co., Past & Present, 1910.

24 Nov. 1991, we visited Skidmore, Mo. and visited with a local
Genealogist, Mrs. Pat Cheney, who assisted us with a lot of information
concerning these families.
Anna's parents came from Ogle Co., Ill. when she was about 4 years old.
She grew up in Atchison Co., MO. Her father died Julne 30th 1901. Her mother is still living making her home (1910) wiyth her children. Mrs. Keever has 3 brothers living: David, Clinton and Edgar. SHe also has a sister , Mrs. Emma Turner, Mrs. Mooly Keever and Mrs. Alice Hays, wife of Milton R. Hays. She had a brotyher George who died in infancy.
After her marriage they went to live on the old Homestead. When Stephen
O. was 11 years old, his parents came to Atchison Co., where he lived until
about 1902. The father having brought a farm there about 6 miles north west
and nearly a mile south of Quinton. Elias Kneppers death occured May 19, 1887.There is also a Purl Garland Keever born Dec. 27, 1933 and died June 1,
1934, buried in the Miriam Cem. in Polk Twp., Maryville, Nodaway Co., Mo.Information sent by Bonnie Everhart of N.C., a Grand daughter of Annie.

Anna Jemima Knepper, Annie, as she was called by her family, was born in
Ogle Co., Ill, on Jan. 17, 1874, the daughter of Hiram and Fredrica Stull
Knepper. She moved to Atchison Co., Mo., with her family in 1889. She
attended school in a one room schoolhouse located ?. On March 16, 1889 she
was issued a Teacher's Certificate to teach the third grade in the public
schools of Missouri. She taught at -- .
On July 23, 1889, she married Stephen Oliver Keever, who had moved to
Missouri with his family from Randolph Co., Ind. They made their home with his parents on their farm near Skidmore for several years thereafter. Their family consisted of six children, Ora Elmer, Henry Clay, Carl Fredric, Gladys Malinda, James Olver Ray, and Bulah Ann. An infant boy died two days after hsi birth in 1915. Annie Knepper Keever died May 22, 1932 at her home in Maryville and is buried in the family plot in Miriam Cemetery in Maryville. Stephen O. Keever died February 4, 1942.

Harry Edgar Knepper, son of Hiram and Fredrika Stull Knepper was born Sept. 5, 1879 at Guy, Atchison Co., Mo. His parents came to Mo. about the year of 1877 from Quincy, Penn. Mr. Knepper, the youngest of seven children, resided at Guy until he built a grocery store at Clay Center, Mo. There he met and married Miss Vida Morford, Day. of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Morford. His early business years were spent in farming and as a grocery merchant.
In 1918 he became associated with the Standard Oil Co. at Maitland and
continued until his death Oct. 13, 1940. The twenty-two years spent in that
work made him the oldest man in point of continuous service in the St. Joseph
district of the Standard Oil Co.
Both children of Harry Knepper graduated from the Maitland High School.
They are Edgar M., who lives in Kansas City, Kansas, and Dale who married
Evelyn Crider, dau. of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Crider, and now lives at Desloge, Mo.
Son of James Stanley and Catherine Hutchins. He had 9 children by his first wife. DATE 13 NOV 1806

Davis: A Quaker Family by Eleanor Davis, pg. 930, has Jemimah married
secondly to Strangeman Stanley.
This line is connected to my Anderson line which follows this lineage back further. Jemimah Jones is the dau. of Richard Jones and Jemimah Huff.
Walter had no children.
June 1900 Census Grand Detour, Ill. Husband was passed away before the
census was taken, must have died with in the last few months since they had a
son born in June, no name given.There was an Oscar Welty who went by the name of OK, living in Florida, use
to live in Oregon, Ill. His son, Kenny, lives between Oregon and Byron, Ill.
Victor Mon of Byron, Ill. stated that his family use to visit some Welty
cousins in Dixon, Ill. when he was pretty young.
